Please note Complete root access is required in order to host a game of Post Scriptum.
Recommended Server Specs
- CPU: i7 7700k / i7 8700k / i7 6700k OC 4.5 or 4.4
- Memory: 32GB Ram / 3200Mhz
- Disk Space: 20GB
- OS (Server): Windows Server / Linux
- Root Access / Remote Desktop
Steam AppID: 746200
Installing the Server
In the attached file you will find two .bat files. One to update / install the server and the other to run. You will need to edit the update.bat (edit with notepad) to have your correct Steam Login and directory you wish to install.
Before running the update.bat to install, make sure you have SteamCMD installed on your Windows / Linux Machine.
If we update the game, you will just need to run the install/update.bat to fully update your server to the latest build. However it is recommended during our Beta Period to delete all server files (Except the ServerConfig folder) each time you update to fully reinstall.
Note: If you encounter any error to the server failing to launch after update, delete files and reinstall.

Configuring the Server
Once you have installed the server via the .bat file, you can now configure the server. Go to the server config folder (Default is C:\servers\ps_test_server_eu1\PostScriptum\ServerConfig)
and here you will see all the files to change server name, set player count, etc. Edit these as you like. If you'd like to add admins, moderators, reserved slots, you must
add each user with specific permissions in the Admins.cfg using their SteamID64.
If your server is not meeting the minimal server requirement, do not host the server for 80 players, decrease that number.
Launching the Server
You will need to use the "Start Post Scriptum Server.bat" to launch the PS server. This will open a process window which will show that the server is online.
Server Commands / Administration
Please note that Post Scriptum uses the exact same commands / configuration of Squad servers. You can read more about commands and configuration here: https://squad.gamepedia.com/Server_Administration
Running Multiple Servers
If your server is powerful enough, you can duplicate the install / update.bat and edit to set a new install directory. (ex: C:\servers\ps_test_server_eu2\). This will install a new server to that directory, which you can use as a second server. You must also duplicate the startserver.bat to use the same directory. You will also need to set different ports in the start.bat. (Port=10047 QueryPort=10067)
Repeat this step any number of times for several servers.
Server not appearing in Server Browser?
Make sure you open the correct ports either on your Game Hosting Panel or within Windows Firewall. This is the most likely cause of servers not appearing in the browser.
